Sugar free jelly anyone?

This right here, that lovely big plate of comfort food, is one of the perks of having most of my calories left for the last meal of the day. Gammon and eggs (both dry fried) with chips made from potatoes and carrots (done in the oven with spray, one cal, oil) pineapple rings and some gravy made with the juice from the gammon. A large portion to be sure, but all counted and well within allowance, even before earning a couple of hundred extra calories for a walk after the feed.

The way I eat would definitely not suit everyone, but there's no doubt that it's working for me. The early part of my day is very calorie light, my intake weighted very much to teatime, my main meal. That's when, during the working day, TMM and I get to sit down together and relax. Chow down and chew the fat, literally (or not in my case) and figuratively. And when we sit down to eat together, the last thing I want is to feel hard done by, which is exactly how I would feel if TMM had a big plate of food and I had half the amount (though I am aiming to be a lot smaller than him, so I should eat less) For me, it's worth being a little hungry, or eating very carefully throughout the day, so I can eat pretty much the same a him at teatime and still manage to stay within allowance. I don't eat the same afterwards though. He tends to eat chocolate or biscuits after dinner. I tend not to, as I rarely have the extra calories to spare after my big dinner :-) You know me. It's all about the 85% dark chocolate anyway if I fancy a treat.

Just by way of a post script, I should mention, as was pointed out to me yesterday, those sugar free butterscotch sweets that I bought yesterday (and finished today. Yummo!) are best not eaten in large quantities. There is a warning on the box that excessive consumption can produce a laxative effect. This tends to be the case with a lot of sugar free sweets. The same warning can be found on sugar free mints, and there is a whole cult following on Amazon regarding the sugar free jelly bears that can have a devastating intestinal effect.

Just a small sample of the reviews for these sweeties. Which I loved, btw, despite the truth being that this is all relatively unexaggerated, if a tad colourfully worded.
And this, I know from experience because I bought them to test them out. I cannot plead ignorance.  I bought them after I'd read the reviews! So re the butterscotches? Enjoy sensibly, as all the alcohol ads say thees days.
